About me :
After i left IDI in August 2006, I worked as a medical officer at the Nigerian Navy Hospital, OJO, Lagos, running the ART clinic and taking care of HIV clients. In January I moved over to Ibadan to commence a 6 year residency training in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery.
2. Dr. Nabukenya Mary Gorreth-Mudiope, 
Medical Advisor with German Leprosy & TB Relief Association. Attended IDI training in 2007
The training was beneficial because her work involves training of district TB & Leprosy supervisors in the nine zones of her jurisdiction.
Mary also does training of health workers at the units offering the diagnostic services for TB & HIV within the zones in sites.
She advises health workers on how to deal with clients in their health units, those that can be referred and where to refer them
3. Dr. Mubangizi Alfred
Technical Advisor SPEAR.
Attended IDI training in 2007Supporting Public Sector work places Expand Action Responses (SPEAR) to HIV/AIDS is a World Vision project. The project is implementing this response in 3 ministries namely, Local Government, Internal Affairs, and Education & Sports.
Alfred does counselling & testing and then links up the patients with service providers for treatment.
He also does training in capacity building for health workers in ART & Palliative Care within the ministries e.g. Police Officers & their families, Prisons Officers & families)
4. Dr. Talla Sandrine Valerie
I had the privilege to come to IDI just after I completed my medical training and one year of internship at Olabisi Onabanjo
University in Ogun state Nigeria.
The training at IDI was a complete package I was given a solid foundation on the subject of HIV and Antiretroviral therapy. I also had the opportunity to visit different Institutions which offer comprehensive HIV care in Uganda. For the first time, I was introduced to the subject of Palliative medicine. Little did I know that this information will be vital as I was about to start my career as a physician
Presently, I work in one of the five HIV Treatment Centers of the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Board. We have about 1,223 patients on ARVs.
The training at IDI has been of great help to me. I have been able to share my knowledge with the colleagues working with me. I have remained in contact with ATIC which continues to help me in managing challenging cases. I now enjoy working on HIV infected patients not only confidently but passionately based on that which I was taught.
One year ago, I went back to Uganda to broaden my knowledge on palliative care at Hospice Africa Uganda. That made my practice of HIV medicine complete.
I sincerely thank the staff of IDI and Hospice Africa Uganda for the great job they are doing.
